Frontier City and Wonderland

Because of the Bell's fiasco from the previous night we decided to stop at Frontier City in Oklahoma City for a coaster fix. We had been there before on the return leg of RoadTrip98 and found it to be a cute little theme park. It was another really hot day, and they didn't have a water park. On the plus side, Mike got to ride his very 1st roller coaster with me, the Wild Kitty.

We left Frontier City for the long hot dry ride across Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle, bound for Albuquerque, New Mexico. Stopped briefly at Wonderland Amusement Park in Amarillo, Texas. Deb took Mike to a nearby playground and I said I would meet her in 1 hour to continue the drive. Wonderland is a very small park, similar to Adventureland in Long Island. I was quite suprised by the 30 minute wait to buy tickets to get in - and this is a park that opens at 6 and closes at 10! Once I finally got in, grabbed quick rides on the 3 coasters and split. Got to Albuquerque around midnight.
