On the way from Ouray to Keystone we stopped in Leadville (highest incorporated town in the US, about 10,411 feet). We needed to get Mike out of the car for a while (it had been a long drive so far), so we saw the sign for the Matchless mine and took a chance. Turned out to be pretty interesting (once we actually found it), a tour of the top of the mine and a talk about the history of Baby Doe.
