Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park

We stayed 3 nights at the Estes Park KOA, and used that as our base for trips to Rocky Mountain National Park. Although the town of Estes Park it hasn't changed much since the last time we were there, we were spoiled by our stay at Ouray - that was much quieter and quainter. If it wasn't right next to the National Park I don't know if we'd be back in Estes much.

We took the Berthoud Pass
on the way to Rocky.
This section was nice,
but the pass was just OK

Our KOA Kamping
Kabin in Estes Park.
Right next to the road,
and next to a horse
stable. Not great.

Mike liked petting
the bears in town

We had a great time each day in Rocky - especially Mike, who went nuts over the giant rocks. He'd never seen rocks this big before, and I think he would have touched each one if we let him. We did a couple of very easy hikes (really walks) with him, one day at Sprague Lake and one day at Bear Lake. We were happy that he enjoyed the hikes, as Deb and I really love them.
